Satendra Singh Lohiya (born 6 July 1987) is an inspiring Indian swimmer who has overcome a 70% disability to achieve remarkable feats in the world of sports. On 24 June 2018, he made history by crossing the English Channel as part of a swimming relay team, becoming one of the first para swimmers from India to accomplish this feat. He completed the crossing in an impressive 12 hours and 26 minutes, setting a new record.
Lohiya's exceptional achievements have earned him several prestigious recognitions. He was selected for the Tenzing Norgay Adventure Award 2019, becoming the first Indian para swimmer to receive the honor, presented by the Honorable President of India, Ram Nath Kovind. On 13 March 2020, Prime Minister Narendra Modi also recognized his hard work and dedication. Additionally, Lohiya was awarded the Vikram Award, Madhya Pradesh's highest state-level sports award, by Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan on 23 December 2014.
In 2024, the Government of India honored him with the Padma Shri for his outstanding contribution to sports, cementing his place as one of India's most inspiring athletes.
Satendra In English Channel
On 24 June 2018 he crossed the English Channel as part of a swimming relay team which, for the first time saw four para swimmers from India cross the English Channel. He completed the channel in 12 hours and 26 minutes, setting a new record.

Satendra was born like a normal child in a small village of district Bhind Madhya Pradesh India in 1987, but due to lack of proper treatment for a serious illness within fifteen days of his birth, his legs veins shrink due to which both his legs became 70% disabled.
